Standards
Chaffee Trail Elementary adheres to the standards-based curriculum of Duval County Public Schools, which is based on the America's Choice School Design. This includes a 2 1/2 hour literacy block comprised of Reader's and Writer's Workshops, Math Investigations, the 25-book campaign, and school-wide book-of-the-quarter selections.
Common Core Standards will be implemented during the 2011-2012 school year beginning with Kindergarten, with full implementation by grades K-5 during the 2013-2014 school year.

Destination Success is an online Reading and Math software program that is accessible 24/7 to ALL elementary students enrolled in Duval County Public Schools. The content is engaging and aligned to our Reading and Math curriculum.
All students in grades 3-5 take the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.

With resources for parents and teachers, the FCAT Explorer helps students learn about and practice the skills tested on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
The Study Island Next Generation Sunshine State Standards Mastery Program is specifically designed to help students master the content specified in the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) and the FCAT test. Study Island's focus on the Sunshine State Standards enables students to improve their performance in all skill areas tested on the FCAT. The user-friendly interface allows students to move through the program step-by-step. Each section has a pre-test and a post-test, as well as topics that cover each of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Topics consist of questions, answers, explanations, and lessons that address the specific skills required in order to master the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and the FCAT.
